Why Marriage?
Vow: a promise that is never meant to be broken
Marriage: a union; a merger; a coming together of two persons
Wedding Band: a symbol of unending love (an unbroken circle)
When two people commit with a vow, their lives merge to become one life. Like cementing two pieces of concrete together, this bond is never meant to be broken.
When two people have sex on their wedding night,
- after they have said their vows,
- and their lives have become one,
- then they are merging their bodies to become one.
And all they’re wearing are their wedding bands.
Now that is powerful.
